저는 읽어보지 못한 모든 책들을 제가 아직 걸어보지 못한 '새로운 길'이라고 생각합니다. 그것은 새로운 길이자 새로운 만남입니다. 일 인분의 인생밖에 주어지지 않는 인간에게 천 인분, 만 인분의 인생을 들여다보고 만나고 사색할 수 있게 해주는 최고의 선물. 그것이 책이고, 독서라고 생각합니다.

우리는 미래를 살 수는 없지만, 현재를 지혜롭게 살 수는 있습니다.
우리는 미래를 선택할 수는 없지만, '먼저 아는 지혜'로 잘못된 선택을 피할 수 있고, 더 나은 내일을 만날 수 있습니다.
